How UV-Printed & LED Neon Signs are Made
All of the signs shown above are UV-printed with an LED light overlay. This means we UV-print the backboard of the sign and then use LED neon flex to overlay and highlight the key elements of the design.
The technical drawing below best explains how the sign is put together - UV-printed backboard with LED neon flex overlay = complete sign.
This method allows us to get big blocks of color into the design and also allows a lot more intricate designs. We would not be able to replicate the big blocks of blue color in LED alone, so we use the UV print in this situation. Another example using the image below is that the fine details of the cuffs on the sleeves of the jacket are two-tone blue, with a fine, darker blue line, none of which could be created in LED alone. In these situations it makes for a much nicer design to use UV-printing combined with LED neon flex.
